If you’re still in your early days using your journal, you might still be working out which way of using it works best for you. After all- we are all different and there are no rules here! Here are three ideas of some ways which you might want to try out or incorporate into your journaling time.
Write it down
The most obvious, and perhaps simple way to do it is just to write. That doesn’t have to mean long essays or spending half an hour, an hour every day, although that can be helpful! I mostly keep it simple in my journal and write little bullet points or notes that help me to get things out of my mind but without taking up a lot of time. The way I do this on the ‘joys’ page of the weekly spread is to write Monday to Friday (I usually just write M, T, W etc to save even more time!) and then note two or three things from the day that were positives. Simple and easy.
Stick it in.
Whether you have a stash of washi tape, stickers or just some photos or momentos, you could easily stick them into your journal to keep it all in one place. I always want to print out photos- but often forget. I think that having one time each week to print and paste them in could work well for me (I’ll let you know how it goes!)
Add some colour.
There’s nothing to say that you have to leave the pages as they are- get creative! I deliberately left the ‘quote’ and title pages blank so that they could be used to colour or paint in if you had the inclination. If you’re shuddering at the thought of getting ‘arty’ with it- don’t worry, just find what works for you!
How are you using your journal? I would love to see pictures, or to hear if you have any other ideas!
